Buchhorns on Wedding Trip
Following their marriage in the Chapel of the Chimes, September 14, Miss Barbara Mae Beyers and Mr. Reinhold Buchhorn left for a short honeymoon, following which they will return to establish their home of the bride's father.
The Rev. J. S. Harold of St. John's Lutheran Church officiated at the service, after which the bridal party motored to the home of the bride's aunt, Mrs. George Lowry, on Euclid Avenue, Oakland, at whose home the receiption was held.
The bride wore for her marriage a gown of white taffeta moire, with jacket top, having a Peter Pan collar and long sleeves, and wore a finger tip, double veil of tulle, which was bound to her brow by a wreath of orange blossoms, as she entered on the arm of her father, Mr. Alvie Beyers. Her bouquet was of white bouyardia lilies of the valley and gardenias. Miss Natalie Christiansen was maid of honor. She wore a frock of rose taffeta with puffed sleeves and full skirt and square neck, trimmed with narrow pleating of the same material. On her head she wore a tiny hat of pleated taffeta to match, topped with a few rosebuds. She carried an arm bouquet of pink roses. The bridesmaids, the Misses Ruth Peacock, Edna Buchhorn, Marion Heller and Regis Zernicke, wore gowns of turquoise blue taffeta, similarly made to that of the maid of honor. All carried arm bouquets of talisman roses.
Mr. Fred Buchhorn, cousin of the bridegroom-elect, was bestman, and the usher were Messrs. Howard Beyers, Henry Buchhorn and Clyde Holtcamp. Wesley Smith was soloist.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. August Buchhorn of 35th Avenue.
